A Portrait of Hugo

I can’t believe we’ve only been in our new house for less than two weeks!? We already feel lovely and settled, and Pablo loves having more space and a garden to explore. The Christmas tree is up and we’ll be lighting our fire this week - a wonderful way to end a busy year!

Although moving house and Christmas have kept me busy throughout December, I’ve managed to find time to complete a few pet portraits in time for the festive season, and I wanted to share one with you here.

This is a graphite sketch of Hugo, a huge boy from our livery with a small white moustache. He belongs to my friend Wendy and I’ve ridden him many times - he’s round, sturdy and gentle, but he can move into a surprisingly fast canter if he’s given the space!

I loved drawing Hugo. He’s such a handsome boy with a truly gentle soul, and I was particularly excited to capture his moustache and droopy bottom lip.

The deadline for Christmas pet portraits has now passed, but do get in touch if you’d like a pet portrait completed for the new year! You can find prices and more details here.
